“Hello, I’m Jon Wyman. Welcome to the Francis Wyman House. It was first built way back in 1666 and is one of the oldest buildings in the country. It is in the National Register of Historic Places and has been a beloved landmark in Burlington for generations. We get visitors from near and far including annual tours for Burlington’s third graders as part of their history curriculum. In addition to the historic home, there is a fascinating stone chamber on our property that is estimated to be 600 years old, but it’s origin is a mystery.
The town has a perpetual easement to the property so continued preservation is in the town’s best interest. The historic preservation funds provided by CPA can help continue preservation and restoration work to enrich this premiere historical site for the community.
Please vote for the Community Preservation Act this November 8th.”
